How to Book and Take Your Lessons
Everything from creating your account to your first lesson, and the rules that apply to every lesson after that.
The five rules every lesson follows
- 1
1 point = 1 lesson
Every lesson is 50 minutes, one-on-one, and costs 1 point. Points are deducted when you book and returned when a booking is cancelled in time.
- 2
Book 4 hours ahead
You can only book a time that starts at least 4 hours from now.
- 3
Teacher confirms within 4 hours
A new booking waits for the teacher. If they do not confirm within 4 hours, it is cancelled and your point is returned automatically.
- 4
Enter 10 minutes early
The "Enter Classroom" button turns on 10 minutes before the start time.
- 5
Leave 4 hours ahead
Cancel or request leave at least 4 hours before class for a full refund. Inside 4 hours the lesson can no longer be cancelled, and a missed lesson is not refunded.
Part 1 · Getting started
Create your account
enggletalk.com.tw → Sign Up
Enter your name, email and a password with at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number, then tick the terms box. We send a 6-digit code to your email. Type it in within 15 minutes; after 5 wrong attempts you will need a new code, and you can ask for a new one every 60 seconds.
Once your email is verified you get 1 free point for your first lesson, and you are taken to the login page to sign in.
- Signing up with Google skips the code: your account is active right away and you still get the 1 free point.
- Use one email address. A second account does not get a second free point.
- Did not get the code? Check your spam folder first, then click resend.

Log in with your email and password or with Google. Tick "Remember me" to stay signed in for 30 days instead of 7.
The first time you log in from a new computer or phone you will see "Trust This Device?". Choose "Trust This Device" on your own devices and "Not Now" on shared or public ones. We also email you whenever a new, untrusted device logs in.
Forgot your password?
Click "Forgot password" on the login page. The reset link in the email works for 30 minutes. After you set a new password, every device is logged out.
Your profile
Profile
Here you can change your name, upload a profile photo (an image up to 2 MB), change your password, turn on browser notifications, see your active sessions and delete your account. Your email cannot be changed.
Your time zone is set automatically from the device you log in with, so every lesson time you see on the site is already in your local time. If you travel, log in from where you are and the times update.
- The first time you book, we ask for your age group (and optionally gender and lesson preference) so the teacher can prepare. You only fill this in once.
- Turn on notifications on the Profile page to get a reminder on your device before each lesson.
Part 2 · Points
How points work
Points Balance
Your balance is shown as remaining lessons. Each one-on-one lesson costs 1 point. The point is deducted the moment you book, and returned in full when the booking is cancelled by anyone in time: by you at least 4 hours before class, by the teacher, or by the system when the teacher does not confirm.
Points you buy are valid for 30 days from the day we approve your payment. Your whole balance shares one expiry date, and every new approved order resets it to 30 days from that day. The expiry date is shown on the Points page. Points that pass it are removed.
- When fewer than 3 lessons are left, the Points page shows a "Low lesson balance" warning.
- "Purchase History" lists every change: Purchase, Used, Refund and Bonus. Purchases have a "Receipt" button you can print.

Buy lessons
Points Balance → Buy
Payment is by bank transfer. Pick a plan on the Points page and click "Buy". A window shows our bank account; use "Copy Account" to copy the number. You have 7 days to make the transfer.
After you transfer, open "My Orders", find the order and enter the last 5 digits of the account you paid from and the date, or upload a photo of the receipt (JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 5 MB). The order changes to "Paid". When we have checked the payment, the lessons are added to your balance and the order shows "Approved".
- We do not send an email when an order is approved. Check the Points page; the balance and the new expiry date appear there.
- An order that is still "Pending Payment" can be cancelled from My Orders.
- Have a redeem code? Enter it in "Redeem Code" on the Points page. Codes look like XX-XXXXXXXX.

Part 3 · Booking a lesson
Find a teacher
Teachers
The Teachers page lists every teacher who is currently accepting bookings. Search by name, or filter by specialty: General ESL, Business English, TOEIC, IELTS or Kids English. Each card shows the teacher's style, rating, languages and when they next have a free time: "Available Today", "Available Tomorrow", a date, or "No Slots".
Click "View Profile" to see their introduction, intro video, experience and reviews. The "Availability" tab shows their open times in your time zone for the next two weeks.

Book a lesson
Book a Lesson
There are two ways. On a teacher's profile, click a time in the "Availability" tab and confirm. Or go to "Book a Lesson" in your dashboard: choose a teacher, then pick times in the weekly calendar, then confirm.
The calendar is in your local time and shows 09:00 to 23:00 for this week and the next four weeks. Open times are marked "Available"; you can tick several at once. Each time you tick is one lesson and one point. Times that start in less than 4 hours cannot be booked.
- The confirmation step shows how many lessons you chose and how many points will be used.
- Points are deducted as soon as you confirm, even though the teacher has not accepted yet. You get them back if the booking does not go ahead.
- You need at least 1 point to book. If you have none, the site sends you to the Points page.

Wait for the teacher to confirm
My Bookings → Upcoming
A new booking shows "Pending" under Upcoming. The teacher has 4 hours to accept it. When they do, the card changes to confirmed and you receive the email "Booking Confirmed — Your Teacher Has Accepted".
If the teacher declines, or does not answer within 4 hours, the booking is cancelled, your point is returned at once, and you get an email saying so. You can then book another time or another teacher.

Changed your mind while it is pending?
Click "Cancel Booking" on the card. A pending booking can be cancelled at any time for a full refund.
Before class: reminders, leave and changes
My Bookings
About 30 minutes before a confirmed lesson we email you a reminder with a link to the classroom. If notifications are on, your device gets one too.
If you cannot attend, click "Request Leave" on the lesson at least 4 hours before it starts. Your point is returned in full. Inside 4 hours the button is greyed out and the lesson can no longer be cancelled; if you do not attend, the teacher marks it as absent and the point is not refunded.
- There is no reschedule button. To move a lesson, request leave (4 hours ahead) and book the new time.
- If the teacher has to take leave, your point is returned in full and you receive an email.
- If a lesson is moved by our staff, you receive the email "Your lesson has been rescheduled" with the new time.
Part 4 · In the classroom
Enter the classroom
My Bookings → Enter Classroom
"Enter Classroom" turns on 10 minutes before the start time and stays on until 50 minutes after it. It is greyed out on a booking the teacher has not confirmed yet.
Use Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge on a computer, tablet or phone. The classroom does not open inside the LINE, Facebook, Instagram or Messenger apps. If you tap the lesson link in one of those, open it in your real browser instead. When the browser asks for camera and microphone permission, click Allow. A headset gives the clearest sound.
What you see and what you can use
The teacher is on the left and you are on the right. The badge at the top shows "Connected", and the clock counts down the 50 minutes; it turns red for the last 5. The buttons along the bottom:
- Microphone and Camera: mute or turn off your video.
- Virtual background (shown when your browser supports it): blur or replace what is behind you.
- Share screen: show a window or your whole screen to the teacher.
- Layout: side by side, or the teacher large and you small.
- Whiteboard: you can draw on it too, and both of you see the same drawing.
- Materials: the teacher chooses a PDF and turns the pages; you can zoom.
- Games: the teacher picks and starts a game; you play along.
- Settings: switch to another camera, microphone or speaker.
- When the teacher opens a curriculum lesson, it appears on your screen automatically and follows the page the teacher is on.

Chat and translation
The speech bubble at the top right opens the chat. Type a message and press Enter. If you are not sure what a sentence means, rest your mouse on it (on a phone, press and hold) and a translation into the language you are using the site in appears. Translation is on by default; the "Hover Translation" button in the chat turns it off and on.
- Messages are not saved. If you reload the page, the chat is empty again.
- Very long messages (over 100 characters) are not translated.

If the teacher does not arrive
If the teacher has not joined 5 minutes after the start time, the classroom shows "Teacher Unavailable". You can choose "Continue Waiting" or "Confirm Teacher Absent". Confirming records the lesson as teacher absent, returns your point in full, and takes you back to My Bookings. If the teacher joins while you are waiting, the message closes by itself.
Leaving and the end of the lesson
When the teacher ends the class, you see "Class Ending Soon" and are taken back to My Bookings a few seconds later. The teacher then marks the lesson as completed and it moves to your Lesson History.
The "Leave" button only closes the room for you. If you left by mistake, click "Enter Classroom" again; you can re-enter any time while the lesson is running.
Part 5 · After class
Lesson History
Lesson History
Every completed lesson is listed here with the teacher and time, plus your totals: lessons completed, study hours and teachers learned from. Click "Rate" on a lesson to give the teacher 1 to 5 stars and a comment; you can rate each lesson once. "Download Record" and "Export CSV" give you a certificate of your lessons.
Your English level assessment
My Assessments
After your first completed lesson, and again after every 20 lessons, your teacher writes an assessment: an overall CEFR level (A1 to C2), a level for each of listening, speaking, reading and writing, and comments on your strengths, areas to improve and what to study next. It appears on the My Assessments page once the teacher has finished it; there is no email, so check the page a few days after the lesson. You can print the report.
Course materials
Course Materials
The Course Materials page is the library of lessons teachers teach from, grouped by course (CEFR, Kids, Business, IELTS), level and skill. Browse it to preview what a lesson covers or to review after class.
